A door appeared in front of him. He’s tempted to come in but a single step forward will shut the door behind him and a single step back will leave the door in front permanently locked. What’s he supposed to do?

He chose to step forward and knock at the door in front. But just to play it safe, he slipped a chunk of lies at the side of the door behind him to keep it from closing. His moves show not very good signs but still he eyes for the chance.
